Egg'zact Facts

You must do nest checks every 5 days.
It takes at least two consecutive nest checks to determine when the "first" and "last" egg in a clutch is laid.
Martins lay a total of 1-7 eggs.
One egg is laid at sunrise everyday during the "laying cycle".
Parents will hide the eggs under nest material, probe around gently to find them all.
Hatching can take up to 3 days.
Hatching begins approximately 15 days after the final egg is laid.
Note:
Nestlings cannot fly until they are at least 26 days old and usually fledge on the average of 30 days in a period between 26 to 35 days.
