"Yeah, but..."

Ever have trouble keeping things in balance? Don’t feel like you’re the only one, you’re not. All humans try to maintain some sort of balance or comfort zone in their daily lives. A zone of equilibrium between really good and really bad. If something challenges that equilibrium it can push us in one or the other direction and make us feel really good or really bad. In either event we automatically try to get back to the zone because we are creatures of habit. Yeah-buts are what our mind “thinks” to get us back to the zone.
Yeah-buts are what our mind “thinks” to get us back to the zone. An endless loop pre-recorded with babble from our past experiences. Yeah-but, I won’t get this or yeah-but, it makes me feel so good and so on. Think about all the yeah-buts that you come up with when something takes you out of your comfort zone. Recognize the yeah-buts and realize they can bombard you with thoughts so dominant, they will return you to the zone. You will not experience or tolerate any meaningful or long-term change outside of your comfort zone, good or bad, when this happens. You may find it useful to stop and consider them to be “thoughts” that control/contradict what you want. If you find these yeah-buts to hamper your dreams/goals and happiness than unload them when they are not justified but do try to think through them.
